Reviews about Vets4Pets Wokingham
- Frank Parry Review added: 2018.03.12★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Over a period of weeks our rabbit started to develop wet patches under his jaw. When we first saw the damp fur we assumed it was from his water bowl, but after a week checked and saw bald patches under his jaw. This coincided with him no longer eating his nibble seed sticks. He also didn't want to strip his apple branches which he always used to love.
We took him to a Vets4Pets who, despite us informing them of his eating issues, diagnosed ringworm or ear mites - we applied the cream they advised, which in hindsight did more harm as it was painful for him when applied as is was actually his molars that had grown into the nerve in his lower jaw, this caused more saliva, hence the bald patched. They were also growing upwards, and sideways into his gum - he was in a lot of pain and we never knew.
On our second visit, we saw a locum vet who was allergic to fur. The vet, being allergic to fur, kept our rabbit at arms length and could barely look at him. It was a ridiculous situation and would have been laughable were it not for the fact it was our rabbit, a rabbit the whole family dearly loved, suffering at the hands of this shambolic practice. We completely we lost faith in Vets4Pets and found a vet not too far from us who was expert in rabbit care, and by just topical examination of the bald patches advised us it was over-grown teeth all along.
We didn't and couldn't know of the exact dental issues, although suspected some kind of oral problem and told Verts4Pets so. We placed our faith in vets that should never have examined our rabbit, they had no knowledge of them and their misdiagnosis prolonged our rabbit's suffering and that lost month most probably made the difference in being too late to save him - he died hours after his operation.
Our rabbit was one of the family, we are bereft and hold Vets4Pets largely accountable.
